AnesthesiologyA specialized physician trained in the use of medications for patient care before, during and after procedures. Anesthesiologists ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the ambulatory surgery center experience. Back to Surgical Services Menu Oral SurgeryA specialized surgeon trained in the care of teeth, gums, oral structures and bones of the face including the maxilla and mandible (jaw). Back to Surgical Services Menu General SurgeryGeneral surgeons perform surgeries such as: laparoscopies, incision and drainage of abscesses, hernia repair, breast biopsy, anorectal surgery, and laceration repair, to name a few. Back to Surgical Services Menu GynecologyGynecologist monitor the health of the female reproductive system. Examples of procedures a gynecologist can perform at Campus includes: biopsies, laparoscopies, cervical biopsies, endometrial ablation, hysteroscopies, and D&C, to name a few. Back to Surgical Services Menu Hand SurgeryHand surgeons may be a part of the practice of general surgery, orthopeadic surgery, and/or plastic and reconstructive surgery. Procedures that a hand surgeon may perform are: tennis elbow repair, carpal tunnel release, tendon repairs, fracture care, wrist arthroscopy and removal of lesions. Back to Surgical Services Menu OphthalmologyAn ophthalmologist is specialized in dealing with procedures of the eye such as cataract extraction, lens implants, corneal biopsy, and implantation of the new "Restore" lens recently approved by Medicare. Back to Surgical Services Menu Orthopaedic SurgeryThe orthopaedic surgeon is concerned with acute, chronic, traumatic, and recurrent injuries and other disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons do the following procedures: arthroscopic surgery of shoulders and knees, open and closed reduction of dislocations and fractures and arthrodesis (surgical fixation of a joint to promote bone fusion), to name a few. Back to Surgical Services Menu Otolaryngology (ENT)Otolaryngologists, referred to as Ear, Nose, and Throat, or ENT, deals with monitor the health and treatment of the ear, larynx (throat), nose and upper respiratory tract. Some ENT surgeons are also trained in facial, cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. The ENT physicians at Campus perform functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), septoplasty, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Back to Surgical Services Menu Pain Medicine / Spine ProceduresThis specialty is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and pain syndromes, typically of the spine. Pain medicine specialists are usually either anesthesiologists or physiatrists and sometimes orthopeadic surgeons. They may serve as a consultant to other physicians or act as the principal treating physician. The pain medicine specialists at Campus typically provide epidural injections of the spine with pain reducing agents, and selective nerve root blocks. Podiatrists can repair Achilles tendon injuries, heel and ankle problems, remove bunions and correct hammertoes, which are toes permanently flexed downward. Back to Surgical Services Menu Plastic and ReconstructivePlastic surgery is a surgical specialty dedicated to reconstruction of facial and body defects due to birth disorders, trauma, burns and disease. The art and science of plastic surgery is also involved with the enhancement of the appearance of a person by operations such as rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and abdominoplasties.
